Introducing the 14' Tower Xplorer SUP Package

Includes a 14' by 32" by 8" inflatable SUP, a 3-PC Aluminum Paddle, a high-pressure SUP pump, and a high-end Tower branded diamond grooved deck pad, a standard longboard fin box with a removable center fin, a hand hold strap, a roll-up carrying strap, a towing ring on the nose, and a leash attachment ring on the tail.

A New Frontier in Inflatable SUPs

It will shock you how fast the 14' Tower Xplorer inflatable paddle board is. At 8" thick, it will also shock you how rigid it is. At the time of introduction, not only is there no other 14' iSUP on the market. Nor is there any other 8" thick iSUPs on the market. The Xplorer represents and entirely new class of paddle board, and everyone who tries it falls in love.

Traditional hard board unlimited racing class SUPs are the fastest boards on the market. At 14' or longer, and with many over 7.5 inches thick, they also present a massive storage and transportation problem. For speed and glide, the longer the better, but it's a bitter tradeoff. You need an oversized room or garage to store them, and you've got to crate them for shipping (at a cost of $1000s per shipment). This is largely why more manageable 12'6" length hard boards have become the standard racing class size, but really they're still monsters to transport.

However, when you go with an inflatable, the length is largely irrelevant for storage and transportation as you just roll them up and go. We figured the longer the better, and we were right on the money. Once we tested the boards, we were blown away at the speed. It's the fastest board in our entire line-up... and if fits in a duffel bag when rolled up.

Amazing Rigidity

Be weary of newer boards made with the fused process. While they may be lighter, they lose rigidity and durability in this newer construction process and are much lower quality boards overall.

The Tower Xplorer Inflatable SUP is made from extremely rugged materials like those you'd find on the highly regarded Zodiac boats and extreme river rafts. The amazing rigidity in the Xplorer is created by thousands of vertically oriented strands of identical length that connect the top deck to the bottom. When inflated, they form a structure that has the rigidity of a piece of plywood, and the thicker you go the exponentially more rigid it gets. The Tower Xplorer is an unparalleled 8" thick. You'll be amazed. We can literally put the front tip of the 14' Tower Xplorer on one chair and the rear tip on another chair and a 200 lb person can stand in the middle and you can barely see the thing flex.

A Viable EPS/Epoxy Board Alternative - We're not kidding!

Traditionally, inflatable SUPs were only a consideration for traveling - store one in the cuddy cabin on your yacht, take it with you on the plane, or haul it into that secret mountain lake or river and you can stand up paddle board in the farthest corners of the earth. With the combination of speed and rigidity of the Tower Xplorer, an inflatable SUP is hard to beat on flatwater with anything less than a full-fledged racing hard board... and don't be surprised if it outperforms a few of those.

Benefits of an Inflatable SUP over an EPS/Epoxy board

  • Easier to store - When rolled up, it's 1 foot in diameter and 37" wide.
  • Indestructible - Never worry again about dings and board cracks. I've literally thrown these things off a 2nd story deck and I frequently set it down anywhere (gravel, a parking lot, even on cement stairs).
  • Easier to transport - No need for roof racks. About the size of a rolled sleeping bag, it easily fits in any car or boat, and can even be strapped onto a bicycle or motorcycle. You can even take it on a plane.
  • Softer - You can literally play bumper boats with these. Kids can jump from one board to the other like they're jumping on an inner tube. You won't get knocked out in the waves either.
  • Easy on the feet - While very rigid, the air does cushion your feet a lot more than a hard board, no matter how good the deck pad is.
  • Less expensive - Which also makes it a great idea as a second board for travel or guests.

Well this is a big board! 14 foot long and 8 inches thick. I'm 6'4" and 310 lbs this SUP holds me with no problem. No flexing or bending in the middle. It held another person on the front of the board who was 200 pounds and not a problem, the board paddled without a problem. So any big people don't be afraid to order this SUP.

With the hand pump it takes about 10 min to inflate. With the electronic pump it takes about 15 min. Both work without a problem.

The 3 piece paddle works great too, it is sturdy and stiff. Being 6'4" the top adjustable locking part is right in the way for a natural hand position, so i have to extend the paddle all the way out to the max position so being tall one might look at a 1 piece paddle.

It is fantastic.

My prevoius experience was with thos wood boards of the 60's. And there shoud not be compared. Tower delivered what they claim. It is a fantastic board to use and then to transport.

Exceptional Customer Service

My girlfriend and I have really enjoyed the Xplorer since purchasing over 2 months ago. We take the iSUP out almost every week. This board is excellent for tandem riders and better for this use than other brands we have rented when on vaca in the past. It is extremely stable with the added height off the water yet we are able to move fairly fast.

I would caution against over tightening the hose and and air pressure gauge to the pump. I had a problem once with this issue but the great staff at Tower solved the problem and have followed up with me several times to make sure I was happy. There Customer service is outstanding.

I did quite a bit of research on many different brands of SUPs before my purchase and kept coming back to this brand. They seemed to have the best quality for the price and I am soo happy with the board and this purchase. The staff was very helpful with any questions I had over the phone or email and recommend Tower to everyone.

Great board!

Excellent product and service, will order again from tower.

Excellent flotation and fast

Review by: from on 4/26/2017
I have previously used and own 2 tower paddle boards (the adventurer and adventurer 2). Loved the boards but was looking for something with more flotation and speed. The explorer 14' fits this bill. It is faster in the water when I'm looking for all out speed or when going on a longer paddle. It is also great when I need to paddle a couple of the kids and the dog around due to the increased flotation capacity. I love the board.

Quick and painless

We live in Saudi Arabia, so it's not very often that you buy something and it ships and shows up in less than a week with no problems. My husband loves his board and we are grateful that the shopping experience was so easy.

14' beast

Review by: from on 3/22/2017
I bought the 14' Xplorer for a trip to Mexico. I had a very easy time pumping it up. It is amazingly stiff fully inflated and super stable with my wife and I and two 50# kids.

It's robust and stable enough that we were calling it a boat especially after an open ocean paddle.

It was a really good floating dock for kids wrestling floating in chest deep water because falling on it is friendly enough.

It's a bunch of fun in a package light enough for a checked bag including a few other things like the pump and an extra paddle and some snorkeling stuff.

No problem deflating and rolling back up to come home.

It and its condiments fit nicely in an 18" x 42'' cheap duffle with room for some other stuff.

Xplorer 14'

LOVE this board. Sarah made an excellent recommendation in upgrading to this board for me and my 90 pound dog. Super stable even when he's moving about and changing position. He loves it, I love it--couldn't be happier with the purchase!

Xplorer iSUP Package - 14'

I purchased my 14' Xplorer inflatable based on online reviews. I wanted a board that could be paddled tandem and/or carry me (230 lbs) plus a couple of my kids.

The board is exactly what I wanted and works perfectly. It shipped quickly and arrived with everting I needed. It appears to be very well constructed and durable. It packs up small and is light enough to handle easily. It paddles very straight and effortlessly and paddles well with two or even three people. It also makes a great swim impromptu platform. The board is rigid enough for a heavy paddler but soft enough that kids falling on/off it will not get injured. Overall I?m very happy with it.

The minor drawbacks are that it?s somewhat hard to get the last few PSI in (kids would find it hard) and because it?s thick, it?s probably slightly more susceptible to wind. But for bigger paddlers, it?s perfect.

Board seems to be good quality. My only concern is the bubble on the bottom of the board below the filler hole. Tower assures that this is normal.

Great ISUP.

Love the board, wish it had a few extras

Review by: from on 8/28/2016
I have had my board for a few months and love spending time out on the water. Works great on the Weeki Wachee River and on the flats of the Gulf of Mexico. I am a big guy and this board has plenty of room for my gear and my 60lb golden lab. Every time I go out it draws everyones attention and people ask where they can get one.

If there is a draw back to the board package it would be that there is not a carry bag included, which makes it really convenient to transport and keep all accessories together. I had to purchase another bag from somewhere else. Also, why isn't there D rings and elastic cargo netting on this board standard? Seems like a standard feature that should not require me to do it myself after purchase. (still need to purchase and install)

Customer service has been excellent, and I would highly recommend a Tower Paddle Board to anyone looking for a high quality inflatable SUP.

Just bought a second board

We just bought our second Tower paddle board recently. Great product in my opinion and lots of fun. High quality construction, and so easy to bring back and forth to the beach or on vacation.

Love my SUP

Not really that experienced with SUP but I have ridden several different types of board. Mainly paddle on a lake with my dog. I am 215 lbs and he is 60. 14' board is awesome. Fits easily in trunk of sedan. Inflates in 8 minutes and folds easily at the end. Great cruiser on the water. Service was very good. No complaints.

Love this board!

My family takes this out for the day on the lake and we have a blast. It's so much fun with three or for of us on it at the same time!

Sturdy and well made. Very good quality.

My only issue is this - I would not take it out on a windy day. You dont have a much control.

Board is great. I am a 300lb guy and it is stable as anything under me.

A little disappointed that it did not come with a tether. I paid for express shipping and it took over a week to arrive. Also was surprised by an additional $130 invoice to have it cross the USA Canada border. But the board is great.

Awesome Board, one drawback!

Review by: from on 7/20/2016
This is the best all around board I ever used, super stable, awesome payload and good looks. Only drawback is the lack of bungee storage like the Adventurer 2. I add my own D rings and bungee to mine and I am all set. Just FYI it is a thick board so climbing on it is a little more challenging than a classic Hardboard SUP

Bought two.

I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The durability and portability is hard to beat. I have a truck so it would be no problem to throw a hard board in and be off to the lake, but made a trip to Lake Tahoe and it was great that I could have the boards rolled up and locked under my truck bed cover. Also left lots of room for other things (bikes luggage) The boards are very ridged. No flex even for a big guy like me. Tried another inflatable that wasn't as ridged and was glad I purchased a Tower board

Great board

Review by: from on 6/22/2016
I bought the 14ft xplorer isup because I already had a 10 ft board from another manufacturer. I found this isup to be stable and easy to maneuver through the water for such a large board. I paddle mainly in salt water in the Gulf of Mexico so I have used it in both calm water and up to about 3 ft surf. While the xplorer doesn't handle larger waves that well due to its length I found that it handles smaller 2-3 ft waves just fine. It also does a decent job when down winding off shore. The only thing I might change is to make the outer skin a little thicker. Don't get me wrong these are tough boards and able to handle getting bounced around but having owned other ISUPS with double layer construction on the outer skin, it would be a nice addition for a little added toughness but I really have no complaints. I use mine almost every weekend.
